For young people moving into Year 7 this September.
Already in KS3? Now it's time to scale up.
Within the session, young learners will gain confidence that grows with them. Skills for the next stage. Support that meets them where they are.
For Young People in Years 8 & 9
Designed for students who are already established in secondary school and need support to push forward, not just settle in — building on existing habits, addressing the “middle years dip,” and preparing for the increasing academic and social demands of Years 8 and 9.
For Years 8 & 9
Beats the “Year 8 dip” — re-ignites motivation before it fades
Levels up study skills for increasing workload and harder subjects
Builds real confidence — not dependent on fitting in or peer pressure
Early, low-pressure thinking about strengths and future GCSE pathways
Stronger peer skills — teamwork, empathy, handling friendship shifts
Resilience tools for the academic and social pressure that ramps up in Years 8–9
Progression, not repetition — built for where they already are, not a Year 7 repeat
17th AUG 10.30am to 1.30pm

Do children need to attend all three days?
Yes. The programme has been designed as a complete three-day experience, with each session building on the previous one to maximise learning and confidence.
Is the programme suitable for children with additional learning needs?
Yes. Sarah has specialist training in neurodiversity and experience supporting children with ADHD, ASD, dyslexia, and a range of learning differences. Activities are inclusive, supportive, and adapted where appropriate.
Will my child receive individual support?

Is the Science Museum trip included?
Yes. The educational visit forms part of the programme. Further information regarding transport, timings, and consent will be provided after booking.
What makes this programme different?
Unlike traditional revision courses, the Learn Well & Flourish Summer Academy focuses on the whole child. Alongside academic preparation, children develop confidence, resilience, wellbeing, and practical life skills that help them thrive during the transition to secondary school.
Who will be leading the programme?
The programme is led by Sarah, an experienced tutor and academic mentor with an MSc in Neuroscience and Psychology of Mental Health from King’s College London. She has extensive experience supporting learners across mainstream, grammar, and home education settings, including children with diverse learning needs.
How will I know how my child has progressed?
Parents will receive feedback highlighting their child’s participation, strengths, and practical strategies they can continue using at home to support a successful start to secondary school.
What if my child is shy or anxious?
Many children feel nervous about starting secondary school. Our welcoming, encouraging environment helps children gradually build confidence, make new friends, and feel more prepared for this exciting next chapter.
Can parents stay during the sessions?
Yes. Parents are welcome to stay if it helps their child feel more comfortable, particularly on the first day or if their child is feeling anxious. While the programme is designed to encourage independence, we understand that every child is different and are happy to work with families to ensure a positive experience.
